Overview:
Pod Leader
You will provide strategic oversight, mentoring, and management for a team of staff and client bank. The role is central to maintaining high standards of compliance work, fostering strong client relationships, and developing team capability to support growth and succession within the business.
You will be expected to work collaboratively with Partners and Directors to manage client relationships and support the broader strategic goals of the firm, including service excellence, operational efficiency, and staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development
- Managing a team of 3-5 staff and their own client portfolio.
- Provide mentoring, guidance and structured development for your team, supporting their career progression towards more senior roles if desired.
- Ensure the team is fostering a culture of collaboration, autonomy, and continuous improvement.
- Identify and address training needs, performance gaps or resourcing issues within the pod, working closely with HR and Learning & Development.
Operational Oversight & Compliance
- Ensure all work is being delivered timely, accurate and compliant services across accounts, tax, VAT and other statutory obligations.
- Monitor progress against internal and external deadlines, service level agreements and client expectations.
- Promote effective use of internal systems, particularly Salesforce, to drive visibility, efficiency and accountability across teams.
- Champion quality assurance processes and support the resolution of complex technical or client issues.
Client Management & Relationship Leadership
- Work alongside Partners and Directors to lead on key client relationships, ensuring delivery of value-add compliance and advisory services.
- Attend and contribute to strategic client meetings, providing insight and input on financial and operational matters.
- Support business development through nurturing of existing client relationships and identifying opportunities for additional support or advisory services.
Firm-wide Contribution
- Contribute to strategic planning initiatives and operational projects across the wider firm.
- Play an active role in shaping and embedding the firm’s values.
- Support cultural initiatives that enhance staff engagement, inclusion and wellbeing, regardless of work location (office-based, hybrid)
Any other duties that may be required.
Requirements
- Fully Qualified ACCA or ICAEW (3+ years post qualified)
- Experience with people management and leadership
- Milton Keynes based but travel to other sites required
