Nikki Adams – Women Leaders MK Finalist

We are extremely pleased to announce that Ad Valorem’s CEO Nikki Adams is a finalist for the Women Leaders MK – Female Entrepreneur Award. proud2bjpg

Having been shortlisted for the Business Services Award in 2015 for her involvement in Ad Valorem and helping dozens of small local businesses succeed, Nikki has certainly taken this ‘up a gear’ in 2016.

Nikki commented, ‘I am delighted to have been shortlisted for the Female Entrepreneur Award this year. We’ve been enormously busy at Ad Valorem over the past 12 months with new relationships building between local businesses and charities, launching a new department, an office refurbishment, changing our practice management system to name but a few. We made some great friendships at the awards gala dinner last year, so we are especially looking forward to the finals in October.’

Nikki’s entrepreneurial spirit has truly driven growth at Ad Valorem, recognising that there is a place in small practice for dedicated sales, business development and marketing staff and something required to penetrate the market with new tech based ‘real-time-accounting’ services.

Building key relationships with suppliers and local companies is something which Nikki sees as really important in the development of any business. Nikki has formed such a relationship with Xero that their CEO Gary Turner presented at our strategy day earlier this year.

In 2016 Nikki formed the ‘Millennials’ Think-tank, a group of all the under 25-year-olds in the business who meet quarterly to discuss their thoughts on the future of the practice, their careers and the accountancy sector in general. From this process we have benefited from many great ideas, including flexible working, road-shows and the introduction of cloud accounting surgeries. With Nikki providing the freedom and opportunity for the under 25’s to voice their opinions, it has equated to high levels of morale, empowerment and loyalty to the firm.

Nikki’s entrepreneurship has also lead to the launch of a new department at Ad Valorem, which will be live on 1st October 2016. This department brings further innovation to Ad Valorem from the standard accountancy practice and has provided the opportunity for two members of the under-25 group to run and manage a department. Further details of our new department will be revealed shortly, so watch this space…

In 2016 Nikki also lead the refurbishment of our Newport Pagnell office, which now reflects the Ad Valorem brand, being your modern, fresh, innovative practice. Bursting with artwork, from Pink Floyd posters, to signed rugby shirts, to MK Snap artwork. The recognition from Nikki that our offices needed to match our ethos and brand has proved beneficial, with our offices receiving many positive comments, the latest being an enthusiastic music fan who happened to be a VAT inspector.

The Women Leaders MK Gala Dinner takes place on 21st October, where the awards will be presented. Everyone at Ad Valorem wishes Nikki the best of luck, we couldn’t think of a more deserved female entrepreneur.
