Workie – the hairy pensions monster

The government has launched a new TV advertising campaign to raise awareness about pensions in the workplace.WORKIE

The campaign features hairy monster, Workie, who has been designed to represent the workplace pension and throughout the advertising campaign aims to show that there are still people ignoring him. Over the next 3 years every employer must enrol their eligible employees into a pension scheme by law.

Workie will visit many types of  environments to raise awareness of who exactly needs to enrol into a workplace pension. There are some workers who won’t realise that they qualify for a workplace pension. For example, if you are a nanny who is employed by a family, you qualify and if you contribute to a pension your employers must contribute too.

Automatic enrolment into workplace pensions has been in affect across the UK since 2012, but it is only now that 1.8 million small and micro employers are required to enrol their employees and contribute to their savings for later life.

It’s time to stop ignoring auto-enrolment into workplace pensions and find out what you have to do. If you don’t act and enrol your employees you will face fines.

If you are unsure about what you need to do or when the law comes into place for you, please contact us using the details below.
