Xerocon-A month on

Xerocon 2019 was a great experience!

Xerocon is an annual conference hosted by Xero, which is the fastest growing accounting software. This year was their biggest event so far, with thousands in attendance and a record 70 app providers hosting stands.

A month on from the event, we have reflected on the theme of Xerocon this year- “Communities of Purpose” and how establishing your own community of purpose can help your business strive towards a common goal within a positive working atmosphere.

We attended Xerocon 2019 with a personal record of 16 members of staff. This was not only to reflect our growth but also to celebrate our partnership with Xero and how we have grown with them since becoming platinum partners.

As Platinum Champion Xero partners since 2016, we admire Xero and how it’s shaping the future of accountancy. Having attended Xerocon since 2016, our MD Nikki Adams previously stated that Xerocon is the one event on the work calendar that she looks forward to the most; labelling the software as “the Pandora’s box that will enable us to work with our clients in the way we always wanted”.

This year’s Xerocon showcased some exciting updates with the introduction of “Xero-tax” and a beta tested Client Satisfaction System (of which we have signed up to test). These will help us to provide extra services through Xero and be better able to tailor our Xero services to individual client satisfaction.

Client satisfaction is the most important thing to us because like Xero, we aim to make life easier for people in small business. It is our duty as accountants to prevent situations such as the one outlined by Key speaker Gary Turner when he reflected on his personal experiences of what happens when small businesses fail. In fact, by using Xero and utilising connected app software systems such as FUTRLI, Expandly, Xavier and Practice Ignition we can reduce time spent by business owner’s worrying about accounts and increase their time to focus on running their business.

Another big theme of Xerocon was mental health. This reflects Xero’s actions towards supporting mental health in the workplace through their upcoming helpline. We aim to make measures to support mental health awareness ourselves and will be hosting an awareness course event next month. As a community with a purpose committed to helping SME’s we must promote the notion of looking out for one and other first, this leads to a great working atmosphere and more positive service.

To summarise, Xerocon was better than ever this year and we look forward to many more years of our beautiful partnership with Xero.
See below some comments from our team and what they thought of the event:

“I had a good time at Xerocon and found it very interesting listening to the key note speakers. I found most interesting the new features that Xero will be introducing soon as I feel they will be very beneficial to some of my clients”: Kyle

“I met some wonderful forward-thinking people who I would love to keep in touch with in the future.”: Luke

“Xerocon is always a great event, but this year was the best yet. Some of the upcoming product updates including cashflow forecasting and being able to pay bills through Xero are very exciting. It’s also great to meet people passionate about helping small businesses across the UK and globally!”: George Bruce.
